The second (03:01) I heard that angry bellow gurgling upwards as from the depths of hell, conquering the composition, rising in intensity, and climaxing more than half a minute later (a geyser of blood spouting up from Tartaros, breaching subterranean roofs and spewing forth onto the face of the earth), I was engrossed hook, line and sinker. Not everyone will enjoy the grimly impersonal and (dare I say) coldly clinical feel of Bmokatak's sound, but for reasons I'm not sure I want to dwell upon for too long for, it really works for me. The buzz-saw guitar work, the machine-precision percussion and gravelly-throated roars create an unmistakable emotional atmosphere. Ben Harris
